Day tripping Daylesford

On a rather chilly yet intermittently sunshiny day we decided to hit the road and take a trip to Daylesford !

Climbing to the top of the tower of Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens had a Repunzelish feel to it…

…then you half expected fairies or elves to come floating out of the ferns and ivy.

Next we stopped by Lake Jubilee Holiday Park…

…sword (stick) fighting ensued and many enemies were vanquished…

…afternoon tea was shared with a very polite Peacock…

…the sun came out…

…we watched ducks on the lake and listened to the Kookaburras…

…we remembered past holidays in the cabins on the hill…

…we watched campers set up there tents, very amusing…

…and dad’s and lad’s do a spot of fishing…

I would very much have liked to stop at the many enticing shops in the town however I’m not that much of a masochist, shopping with children is an exercise in insanity, both for me and for them.

After breathing in the pristine air, and watching the children run wild we hopped back into the warm car and headed home listening to the smooth sounds of Sade, what a blissful day.

Sounds so lovely! I went to Daylesford last year and spent hours in the big antique market there and ate delicious icecream at that chocolate place sort of near the Hepburn Springs (so helpful with details, aren't I!).. mmm chocolate...
